New upgrade to the DCM in our Paint Facility: integration of a geometric vision system for more precise coating
We have taken a step forward in our industrial painting line with a major upgrade to the DCM system. The objective is clear: to consistently ensure a higher-quality finish, regardless of the complexity of each part. What does the upgrade consist of? Before application begins, the industrial painting system scans each part and generates a 3D geometric model. Based on that model, the DCM automatically identifies flat areas, curves, edges, and hard-to-reach areas, and adjusts the paint gun parameters in real time: application distance, angle of incidence, and paint flow rate. All of this happens automatically and continuously throughout the entire painting cycle, with no manual intervention. What do we achieve with this? A more uniform and consistent coating on every part, even for the most demanding geometries. Less variability in the process, better use of material, and, ultimately, a higher-quality, more consistent final finish. This upgrade is another example of the continuous improvement approach we apply day by day, with the aim of continuing to offer our customers products that meet the highest quality standards at every stage of the production process.
